Entering dates (esp. for Adventure Log)

I'm bringing in a campaign my friends and I have been running for decades, off and on. I've got session notes from as far back as early 2000.

The problem is, I can't just enter a date when I create the Adventure Log entry. I have to click the Back arrow, and flip through calendar entry month by month.

Would it be possible to set it up so we can just type a date in manually?

Hi, sorry for the delay -- just wanted to let you know I saw this and I'm investigating it with the dev team.

Bumping this thread in the hopes the new OP Overlords might actually *fix* the failure to port the date-entry feature into the Reforge.

Clearly, people want to enter dates for their historical campaigns and campaigns set in the future and to enter old session notes.

    Previous threads on this:

I think there was one after that where one of the old OP Overlords basically said, "F U, paying Ascendant users, we're not bringing this feature back." I'm hoping the new OP Overlords aren't so dismissive of their customers.

Yes! Thank you for your efficiency, OP Overlords!

To anyone following this discussion, typing in custom dates is back! Just click on the date or calendar icon. Now in addition to the pop-up calendar appearing, your cursor will appear and blink in the date text field. Just use your keyboard keys to edit the date! The pop-up calendar will update to your selected year as you enter it. The pop-up may appear over your text box, but typing still works.

It works for dates from years 100 to 9999. If you type in a date below 100, it will add 1900 to what you typed, e.g., "55" becomes "1955." If you type in more than 4 numbers for the year, it will accept the first 4, so "40000" becomes "4000."

For games outside those parameters, I think applying "add 1000" or "drop 40000" will work. For games set in B.C. years, using years from another calendar system is probably the best bet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Year_in_other_calendars
